WIPs

Although i havent crafted in a quite a few weeks (i think it must be about 4) the last week has seen me start so many different projects im not even sure where they are

ive attempted to do a mixed media top (similair to a dress that can be found on craftsters
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=230244.0 ) and ive put that to one side because it didnt quite fit athough i will be redoing this one cause i love how it looks

i am at the moment trying to do a star blanket (i still have four weeks to complete it my nephews isnt due until the 23rd june) which is turning out great but its putting me off doing my assignments the pattern im using is here
http://www.angelfire.com/va3/heartfeltangels/littlestarafghan.html
but i had to do the centre (start) a bit different i couldnt quite get it to look right when i followed the pattern......

ive made a start at my very own poppet but again thats been put to one side

i have a knitted wicked top thats still to be finished

and im still considering making some booties and a hat to match that star blanket!!!!!!!

A New Home ......

wow its been so long since ive wrote on here i forgot i even had a blogspot!!!!! i havent even crafted anything......... at all .....

we've been here ...in our new home... for nearly 5 weeks and all ive done (it seems ) is unpack, clean and tidy, cook, unpack, clean and tidy, cook ....etc..... and i havent even finished unpacking yet !!!!!

we still have a room thats full of boxes its a waste of such a nice space......a playroom would be very useful , a craft room would be a dream come true, a small dinning room .....
all great ideas ...BUT i have to get through all those boxes first.

The new house is bigger and warmer, which is really great with two little ones running about most of the time half naked or completly naked. They have their own bedrooms now which has solved the issue of them keeping each other awake and we have an enclosed garden which now means i dont have to be out there with them if they want to play outside.

To my new home.......... xxxx

My Ami's

I recently entered an amigurumi swap on craftster. i had to create two medium sized amis i ended up doing a large one and a what i would call a medium. im not sure if anyone else would call it a medium but it took me more than a few hours to get it right!!! Cant show pics just yet!!!

but during that swap i kept getting my ami wrong so i ended up starting again about 4 times (grrrrrrr!!!)

and to stop the frustration i also made a bunny as a present for one of my daughters friends

and here it is

Photobucket

isn't it lovely!!! to be honest i couldnt work out of it was meant to be a boy or girl so i made her a dress too

Photobucket

doesnt she look sweet

also i wrote the pattern down as i went along and once ive seen to it that its correct (by making another one) and posting more pics in the digital pattern ive started to create i will be making the pattern available to buy in my etsy shop.

......... i have also been thinking about selling the actual item especially to those who like it but are not sure on crochet or cant be bothered and just want the finished item NOW.

well anyways thats all for now ill speak again soon

amigurumi

I have recently been introduced to amigurumi (during my very first swap on craftster) and i have found it rather addictive i have searched the internet and have numerous ami's saved in my book marks, i have been to the local library and taken out books about ami's and i have a stash of my own designs (two of which i have just sent to norway in another swap on craftster) im hopeing my partner will enjoy them both [crossed fingers for luck]

Its also a great way to downsize my stash of wool /cottons and material (clothes). I do have to be honest it is taking a long time to downsize my stash lol but im enjoying it a great deal especially when ive given them away and its takes a bit for the new owner to realise its handmade by me , the look and questions i receive is awesome and makes me want to go create another one!!!!

my blog

Considering i named my blog knitty sam i dont seam to have done alot of knitting recently ive been doing more sewing and crochet ..... so maybe i have to change the name. I know i cant change the url but i might have to change the name on the main screen.

swaps

After the success of my first swap the need to craft for some else is pretty strong so the next swap im involved in is an amigurumi

Amigurumi (編み包み, Amigurumi? lit. Knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures

there are some really great patterns out there on the net and in books.

some really great free ones too if you look in the right places

so wish me luck and ill post pics soon (as soon as its competed and my swap partner has received..... she lives in norway!!)

mini bear

After a conversation with a friend she introduced me to the idea of thread bears

she was willing to send a pattern she had bought but i couldnt wait that long and instead just looked at a few on the internet and made a start

here he is

Photobucket

he has movable arms and legs and head

Photobucket

hes made from embroidery thread and has two black beads for eyes
his insides are polyester filling and hes firmly stuffed so he is able to stand and sit by himself
